Vocabula — vocabulary flashcards for Kindergarten through Grade 12

Get Vocabula on the App Store · About the app

Effective date: 4 October 2026

Vocabula collects nothing. There is no account to make and no sign-in. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking. No company other than Apple is involved. We never see anything you or your child does in the app.

What the app saves on your device

So that the app remembers where you were, it writes a few small notes into its own storage on your phone or iPad. Those notes are:

That is the whole list. It is all numbers and short words about cards. There is nothing in it about who you are.

All of it stays on your device. None of it is sent anywhere. We cannot see it, and nobody else can either.

What the app does not do

All 4,241 cards are built into the app itself. That is why Vocabula works on a plane, in a car, or anywhere with no internet at all.

How buying works

One payment unlocks every definition. Apple handles that payment, start to finish, the same way Apple handles every purchase on the App Store.

We never see your name, your card number, your billing address or your Apple ID. Apple answers the app one question only: has this Apple ID bought the unlock, yes or no. That single yes-or-no is the only thing the app learns, and the app keeps it on your device so you stay unlocked the next time you open it.

To show the right price, and to check that one yes-or-no, the app asks Apple's App Store. That request goes to Apple, not to us. Apple is the seller and processes the payment, and what Apple does with it is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.

Tapping Restore a previous purchase asks Apple that same question again. It sends nothing new.

The unlock can be shared with your Family Sharing group, because it is set up as a Family Shareable purchase. Apple manages that sharing. We are not told who is in your family.

Children

Vocabula is made for school-age children, and it was built so there is nothing about a child to protect in the first place.

The app collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. It asks a child for no name, no age, no birthday, no email address, no photo and no location. There is no account to create. There is nothing to type and no way to send a message. No company other than Apple receives anything, because no other company's software is in the app.

Because nothing is collected, there is no personal information about a child for a parent to request, correct or delete. Buying requires an Apple ID and an Apple payment method, so a purchase is an adult's decision, made on Apple's own screens with Apple's own approval steps.

Keeping and deleting what is saved

The notes listed above stay on your device for as long as the app is installed. There is no copy anywhere else, so there is no deadline on which we throw anything away — there is nothing of yours in our hands to throw away.

To delete all of it, delete the app. Touch and hold the Vocabula icon on your Home Screen, choose to remove the app, then choose Delete App. Everything the app saved goes with it.

The record of your purchase belongs to Apple, not to us, so deleting the app does not undo it. Install Vocabula again and tap Restore a previous purchase to get your cards back without paying twice.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the new version is posted on this page and the effective date at the top changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, because we have no email addresses. Opening this page is how you see the current version.

If a future version of the app ever started collecting something, this page would have to say so before that version could be released, and the App Store's own privacy label on Vocabula's page would change too.
