Chip Compound Interest
Questions Before You Download
Is Chip a one-time purchase?
Yes. The US App Store price is $2.99, paid once for all app features. There are no subscriptions, ads or in-app purchases. Apple shows the local price in each storefront.
Can I calculate monthly contributions?
Yes. Enter a starting balance, nominal annual return, years and extra months, then a contribution and its frequency. Contribution frequency and compounding are independent.
Can I compare two savings plans?
Yes. Compare Plans keeps Current Plan beside an editable Alternative. You can change assumptions without replacing your main plan until you choose Apply.
Can I work backward from a savings goal?
Yes. Goal Calculator solves for a regular contribution, time to goal or required nominal annual return. It does not predict that a calculated return will occur.
Can I share a PDF or spreadsheet?
Yes. Share creates a PDF with assumptions and schedules. Details also offers CSV export. Both contain a plan link. The recipient needs Chip installed to open that plan link.
Does Share App open the App Store?
Yes. Share App sends the public App Store download link without your plan inputs. Open This Plan links inside exported documents instead open an installed copy of Chip with the encoded inputs.
Does it work offline and save my inputs?
Calculations work offline. Your last valid inputs and saved plans stay locally on the device. There is no account or automatic cross-device plan sync. Downloading the app and visiting support pages require an internet connection.
Does it calculate withdrawals or taxes?
No. This app focuses on contributions and compound growth. It does not model withdrawals, taxes, fees or variable market returns.
Does changing currency convert my balance?
No. It changes currency display and regional number formatting. It does not apply an exchange rate or change the underlying amounts.
Are the screenshots a promised result?
No. They show a fictional plan with an assumed constant nominal return. Actual returns vary and can be negative. Taxes, fees and market volatility are excluded.
