Common Questions

Does Fieldbase work without signal? Yes. Saved guides, reference documents, field tools, the on-device assistant and maps you have already downloaded work offline. Download the maps you need before you lose signal.

How do I stop online searches? Open the Fieldbase menu, choose Online answers, and turn off "Use online answers when connected".

How do I turn area preparation on or off? Open the Fieldbase menu, choose Nearby water & maps, and use "Prepare my area while using Fieldbase". Roads download on Wi-Fi unless you allow mobile data there.

Why is there no weather forecast? Saved forecasts come from the United States National Weather Service, so they cover United States areas only. Turn on area preparation and connect to Wi-Fi to save one. Always check the forecast's dates before relying on it.

Why did voice transcription not work? Transcription runs only on the phone. If iOS has no offline speech language installed for your language, Fieldbase cannot transcribe the recording.

Can map labels tell me water is safe to drink? No. Map labels do not confirm drinking safety, open facilities or safe routes. Treat water from any natural source before drinking.

Is Fieldbase on the App Store? Not yet. It is in development and coming to the App Store.
