Privacy

Chip Mortgage Calculator does not collect any data about you. There are no ads, no tracking, no analytics and no account.

What Stays on Your Device

Your plans and the numbers you type are saved only on your iPhone or iPad. We never see them. Deleting the app deletes them.

The One Request the App Makes

The first time you open the app, it asks the St. Louis Fed's FRED service (fred.stlouisfed.org) for the latest Freddie Mac 30-year average mortgage rate. This is public data. The app sends nothing about you with it. It sets no cookies and uses no account.

Like any web request, it reaches the Fed's server from your network address. The St. Louis Fed has its own privacy policy. If you are offline, the app uses a rate built into it instead.

When You Share

Reports and plan files leave your device only when you tap Share and pick where they go.

Ratings

The app may show Apple's standard prompt to rate it. Apple runs that prompt. We get no data from it.

Children

We collect nothing, so we hold no data on anyone of any age.

If This Changes

If we ever add anything that collects data, we will say so here before it ships. Last updated Saturday, October 10, 2026.
