Common Questions

Where does the starting rate come from? The latest Freddie Mac 30-year average, from the St. Louis Fed, the first time you open the app. With no signal, the app uses a rate built into it. You can type your own rate any time.

Why are tax and insurance filled in? They start as US averages, 0.9% and 0.5% of the price each year. Type your own amounts and the app keeps them.

When is PMI added? Only when you put down less than 20%. It stops when the loan drops to 78% of the price on the first schedule.

How do I send a report? Tap Share on the main screen and pick the PDF.

How do I open a plan someone sent me? Tap the plan file where you got it, such as in Messages, and choose Chip Mortgage Calculator.

I got a new phone. Download the app again from the App Store with the same Apple Account. You do not pay twice. Plans are kept on the device, so share them to yourself first.
