Help With the Shree Hanuman Chalisa App

This is the help page for Shree Hanuman Chalisa (English), a free iPhone and iPad app that shows all 43 verses in plain English, one at a time. It is text only, with no audio, no ads and no account.

How to Use the App

Questions People Ask

Does the Shree Hanuman Chalisa App Need the Internet?

No. The whole hymn is inside the app, so it works with no connection from the first time you open it.

How Do I Show the Hindi, or the Hindi in English Letters?

Tap the three dots at the bottom, then Settings. Switch on Show Hindi (Devanagari), Show Hindi in English Letters, or both. Both start off. The English meaning always shows first, then the Hindi, then the Hindi in English letters.

How Do I Make the Letters Bigger?

The app follows your iPhone's text size. Open the iPhone Settings app, then Display & Brightness, then Text Size. For the largest sizes, go to Accessibility, then Display & Text Size, then Larger Text, and turn on Larger Accessibility Sizes.

How Do I Go Back to the Beginning, or Jump to the Last Verse?

Tap the three dots at the bottom, between Previous and Next. Back to the Beginning and Go to the Last Verse are both in that menu. The same menu has Today's Verse, Read All 43 on One Page, Settings and a way to share the app.

Does the App Remember Where I Stopped?

Yes. It opens on the verse you last read. That note stays on your phone. To clear it, open Settings and tap Forget My Place.

Does the App Have Audio?

No. It is text only, made for reading. There is no recording to play.

Does the App Collect My Data?

No. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking. Your place stays on your phone. The privacy policy has the details.

How Do I Report a Wrong Word or a Wrong Meaning?

Email the address on this page with the verse name and what looks wrong. The app has no way to send a report from inside it, so email is the only way. Corrections to the text matter most, and every message is read.
